Welcome to the new site of Mapbella Kennels. Mapbella Kennels is situated in Northern Ontario close to the small town of Englehart.

The first time I saw a Belgian Shepherd of the Groenendael variety was when looking at a book of German Shepherd Dogs. In this book there was a picture of a Belgian Groenendael; it simply took my breath away and I was immediately hooked. Right at that moment I started to research the breed and Ontario breeders. Once I acquired my first Belgian Groenendael there was no turning back! I currently live with several amazing Belgians.

My goal is to produce a completely well-balanced Belgian. Every breeding has to be well thought out so that I can maintain health, sound temperament, type, movement and, of course, beauty. I look for the right male for my female and both subjects must compliment each other as perfectly as possible. No mating is undertaken unless thorough research of the two pedigrees has been completed.

I do not believe in breeding a female more than twice in her lifetime. My goal is to keep my females as long as possible.

Through the years I have produced dogs that excel in a variety of disciplines such as: confirmation, obedience, agility, utility, Rally O, and Therapy dogs. My personal preference is, of course, the conformation ring, but I also like to attain titles in the obedience and the Rally O disciplines. Some of my clients have also attained herding titles and agility titles for the dogs they have bought. My Belgians have helped me discover different parts of not only Canada, but the United States, as well.
